I just played over a three hundred dollar power bill in full were they wouldn't let me pay payments now once again I have a 225 dollar bill.and they want let me pay it in 2 payments .I'm a single pageant that struggles to make it week to week .not being racist or anything there's been 3 or more times that a there's been people who's been in there office and had bill over 500 dollar or and got to walk out with out paying the bill and still had there power on .but I can't even get to make payment arrangement seems like I'm being single out can someone pls help me with this matter pls .thank you Steve eason.
Yes, I had put in a work order since 23 of July here it is the 14 of August., I still haven't gotten my lights turned on yet!!!! Very pissed!!! When I call the Thomasville, al office they have the voicemail on that don't return calls and tells you what going on. I called today no answer so I left a message that I was calling cooperate office then I gets a voicemail saying they working on it within a couple days.. Just getting the run around ..
I have been trying to contact Alabama power for a few hours about a power outage to the company I work for and I get nothing but the run around from there voice computer. Power needs to be restored asap
I tried to make a payment arrangements on my bill today. My bill was due on March 30 I wanted to make a arrangement for April 13. The automated system gave me april 9th 4 days before I needed. When I called customer service they told me that I only had 8 days after the bill is due to pay. You mean to tell people that you charge these high bill too that you (Alabama power) can't work with your customer to make a payment for days out for on that. SHAME ON YOU. SOONER rather than later you find yourself in competition with another company. People are tired of your over priced bills and your inability to work with customers. Alabama power is going to find itself in the same position that some of these other large companies are finding themselves in out of business or soon to be out of business. This is what happens when you have one company with no competition they take advantage of the customer.
I called, got an automated extention till the 16th of Feb. Power cut off on 13th.. called, got no help. Got supervisor "Fran", told her I marked down the 16th when it said, which was good, I get paid on 15th. She said I'd have to pay $75 more than the bill was. Told her had the system told me an earlier date, I'd borrowed money or pawned my car.. she LAUGHED...... Told her I had proof the system told me 16th. She said bring it in... It's on my computer, hard to access it without power. She was happy for me to consult a lawyer so she could be off the phone.... never got around pointing out for over 3 years, my billing is almost always exact. 1 space heater, few lights, computer n tv... (space heater set to 60 degrees) yet this bill was $100 over average... think I'm more disappointed in customer service than taking cold showers. Think I'd rather just buy 2 solar panels and let the power mofia take other people's money...

I have been having problems with making arrangements on my power bill. I am on a fixed income and I have other bills other than my power bill. I try to make arrangements but It has been bad.
I found that Birmingham Water Works work with you. This is the only Company that will not work with you.
I've noticed the extension date changes constantly but from what I see it's to make you pay a reconnect fee asked them to extend my bill one day they claim they can't but if they disconnect me that's a 50$ reconnect fee for them, I am currently talking to a lawyer about trying a class action law suit claiming dishonest billing practice hope I can get some of my fees back if it works out will post on public media for others to sign up.
Alabama power is doing its best to make more & more money off hard working individuals with digital meters. There used to be a company that read these meters monthly. This hasn't happened in quite a while. A representative @ a bill collection site said after complaining that they guesstimate the billing system & have no one reading meters any further. If we didn't like it we could just have it disconnected or pay the bill. Like it or not they were all we had. This outraged us. The neighbors in my surrounding area complain of the same problems. A company needs to be sent out to read the meters ACCURATELY or a possible lawsuit may be in alabama powers future. Start caring about the people & less about profits. How much money is needed on an outdated power grid? Guess we'll all have to produce our on power system with a reverse meter so alabama power will have to pay its customers. That don't sound good for your profit margin does it?
I'm with you on this! I've been telling them for months I'm being overcharged & their response is the change in temperature! I keep telling them I have no heat & air, washer & dryer, dishwasher, I'm currently using a "dorm" type fridge, I live alone so only electricity used is microwave, tv & occasional lights which I'm a scrooge about. I have gas water heater & so on you get the picture. At one time they claimed to have ckd my meter & it was accurate... time said midnight! That's not ckg it. I never had these problems until they quit physically ckg meters. It's not like we can take our business somewhere else! I'm in the process of reporting them to several offices that are over the utility companies. I've saved all communications with the as well. Phew!! Good luck! Maybe if enough people report them we can get help!

I hope someone does do a massive lawsuit. I had a bill that was due on the 29th of May and they told me i only had until june 6th to make the pmt. I was made aware they have a new collection process now. So they no longer work with their customers.
Biggest thieves that can legally rob us for service NOT RECEIVED & nothing we can do. They could care less about the customer or service they don't give. Everyone should join me in reporting them to the federal energy regulatory commission & public service commission! Someone has to do something.
