Joanne Fabrics was allowed to remain open during the Oregon shut downs due to Covid-19 because they were deemed an essential business. The store I shop in, in Medford Oregon is not enforcing the mask wearing policy that is a state mandate. Every time I am in the store which is several times a week I see 3-5 people not wearing masks. Today I called the manager of the store to voice my concerns and I was told that the corporate offices told the staff not to ask people to wear masks, that posting signs on the door was enough. This lack of mask wearing policy enforcement is not only putting the customers at risk but it is also putting the staff at risk. Other stores in the area - Craft-ware House located next door, Walmart, Safeway, Trader Joe's, Costco all have a staff member stationed by the front doors and are telling people they can not enter the store without a mask. If the customer does not have one they are offered one. Why can't Joanne Fabrics do the same? If I walk into your store and light up a cigarette or enter without shoes or a shirt I would be asked to leave. Why can't you do the same for people refusing to wear a mask.Anonymous
because Joann Fabric doesn't hire enough staff. I refuse to tell customers to put on a mask. Have you seen the news where people have been attacked for asking customers? it is not worth the pay i get and worth my life to approach customers. we can't even approach shoplifters or we are fired.
